Creation Seminar 1 - The Age of the Earth
INTRODUCTION, PRESUPPOSITIONS, & IMPLICATIONS:
The Bible [referring to KJV] is the literal, infallible, inspired Word of God.
Every religion asks and tries to answer 4 basic questions:
- Who am I?
- Evolution teaches that you are worthless trash -- an accident
- Bible teaches that you are made in the image of God
- Where did I come from?
- Evolution teaches that you came from a "cosmic burp" -- Nothing exploded into dirt & rocks, the rocks were rained on for millions of years, creating soup, the soup came to life, and eventually adapted into the lifeforms that we know today.
- Bible teaches that you were created by God for a purpose
- Why am I here?
- Evolution teaches that there's no reason to life -- you might as well have fun
- Bible teaches that you were created for a purpose
- Where am I going when I die?
- Evolution teaches that you simply go to the grave, and it's all over
- Bible teaches that there's life after death -- with consequences
DECEPTIVE PREMISES & TACTICS:
Satan uses questions to make us doubt what God has said.
- He calls God a liar. ("He has not said...")
- He lies. ("If you... then you will be like God.")
The idea of evolution started in the Garden of Eden, not with Charles Darwin.
Evolution teaches that we started as amoeba, then evolved "upwards" (to where we are now), and that we will keep evolving, until we eventually attain godhood.
The idea that man can become a god is taught in some religions (e.g., Mormonism & (at the very highest levels of) Roman Catholicism).
"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." (Isa 14:12-14)
Satan wants to be God, but the job is already taken.
We are made in God's image. Satan hates us because we remind him of God.
Hitler said that if you want someone to believe a lie that if you repeat it often, they will eventually believe it... and if the bigger the lie, the easier that it is to get them to believe it.
To be effective, lies must be mixed with truth or good [appealing] things.
Example: rat poison is mostly good food, with only a little bit poison mixed in.
This is the technique used ofen in advertising (e.g. cigarette ads with cowboys, beer with sports).
The mixing of lies with truth makes the lies believable.
Some times I meet kids who say "How do you know that you won't like it if you don't try it?". Now that's a brilliant way to live. Let me ask you a question: "Have you ever layed your head under a semi truck? How do you know you won't like it is you don't try it?" Moral -- There are better ways to determine if things are good or not.
Poison is mixed in with the truth in our science textbooks.
THE EVOLUTION OF SCHOOLS:
There has never been a law in this country AGAINST teaching Creation. However, it cannot be required to be taught.
"B.C." stands for "Before Christ."
The term used in textbooks today -- "B.C.E." -- stands for "Before the Common Era."
This is an example of how God has been "kicked out" of the textbooks.
Teachers are instructed to "stress" the teachings of evolution, particularly the evolution view of the "age" of the earth (i.e., millions or billions of years old).
Is the earth 4-1/2 billion years old?
First-graders believe everything that you tell them.
"Millions of years ago" translates to "Long ago and far away" - which means "Fairy tale coming next!"
BOTH theories -- Creationism and evolution -- are religions.
To report that evolution is science is "slanted journalism."
Evolution is tax supported, and that is wrong. If you want to teach evolution (i.e., teach a specific religion as fact), then you should start your own private school.
Evolution is like kissing a frog to have him transform into a prince; the only difference is time. The classic fairy tale occurs instantaneously, while evolution takes millions of years. [Either is equally believable.]
If someone tries to tell you that we "evolved," ask them, "Were you there, or is that just your belief?" Being only their belief makes it their religion -- not science. Science is based on things that may be observed, studied, and tested.
Those who teach evolution to kids will face judgment for it.
EVOLVING CONSEQUENCES:
If you teach kids that they are "animals" and share a common heritage with earthworms, then they will act like animals.
If evolution is true, then how do you tell right from wrong? Where do you find a standard? ...in majority opinion? ...as a decision from Congress? Where is the standard?
With evolution, there are no standards, and no absolutes. Evolution teaches, "If it feels good, do it." If construction workers attempted to build a house, with every man using a different ruler (standard), then the result would be a mess.
There are, in fact, absolutes.
Once I was in a debate with a professor who said "There are no absoutes!". I replied "Are you absolutley sure?".
In 1957, Russia launched Sputnik, beating the U.S. in the "space race." The U.S. assumed that it was because Russia taught evolution in schools, and they panicked. 1959 marked 100 years since Darwin's book was published. For the first time, from 1959 through the early '60's, the U.S. government got involved with textbooks. In 1957, there were 2,000-3,000 words pertaining to evolution in textbooks; in 1963, there were over 33,000.
The occurrence of sexually transmitted diseases skyrocketed.
Madeline Murray O'Hair won her Supreme Court case (Murray v. Curlett), effectively banning Bible-readings and prayer in many public schools
Abortions, unwed pregnancies (to younger and younger girls), and illegitimate births all increased dramatically.
SAT scores have dropped, and the test was even "dumbed down" in 1995.
Teen suicides have increased.
The school shooting in Columbine was carried out to commemorate Hitler's birthday, and was, at least partially, racially and religiously motivated. Guns are not to blame. Eighteen gun laws were broken by the shooters; more or stricter gun laws would not have made a difference.
MOTIVES BEHIND THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION:
People who believe that they were created do not make good slaves -- they believe that they have certain rights, afforded them by their Creator. The New World Order's agenda includes teaching evolution to the masses, which would make them more submissive and easier to control.
EVOLUTION DEFINED:
If someone asks you if you believe in evolution, ask them to define what they mean by "evolution.".
The word "evolution" has 6 completely different meanings:
- Cosmic evolution -- (pertains to time/space/matter)
- Evolution -- The Big Bang theory
- Bible -- "In the beginning (time), God created the heaven (space) and the earth (matter)..."
- [common sense] -- the 3 things (i.e., time, space, and matter) must co-exist, and must have all been created at the same time... e.g.,
- If you have matter without space, then where would you put it?
- If you space without time, then when would you put it?
- Chemical evolution -- (pertains to chemicals & elements)
- [common sense] -- where do the elements come from? Some may have "just happened," but you "can't get past iron." (Study it.)
- Stellar evolution -- (pertains to stars, planets, and "outer space")
- [common sense] -- There are enough stars in the universe for every person alive to own 3 trillion of them for himself, but no one has ever seen a star being formed, and it has never been proven that they are still forming.
- Organic evolution -- (pertains to the origin of life -- "Where does life come from?")
- Evolution -- spontaneous generation ["bio"-generation]
- Bible -- God created man, and breathed life into him.
- [common sense] -- the 3 things (i.e., time, space, and matter) must co-exist, and must have all come into existence at the same time
- Macro-evolution -- (pertains to kinds of animals)
- Evolution -- all animals have a common ancestor, and "evolved" into the different kinds that we have today over millions of years.
- Bible -- all animals "bring forth after their own kind..."; like kinds produce like kinds
- [common sense] -- No animal produces a different "kind" of animal, and there's no evidence that any ever has. Horses mate with horses and have baby horses, and cannot have another "kind" of animal. Dogs have dogs, cats have cats, etc.
- Micro-evolution -- (adaptation within a particular "kind" of animal)
- Adaptation & changes in response to the environment and variety of characteristics within a "kind" of animal that results in different breeds and species
The first five definitions are religious - only the last meaning of the word -- "micro-evolution" -- is scientific.
BIG BANG REFUTED IN THEORY:
1st Law of Thermodynamics -- Matter cannot be created or destroyed.
[This applies to matter in its present state. It had to come from somewhere.]
Where did matter originate? There are only two possibilities:
- It was created. (Biblical view)
- It created itself. (Humanist view)
Etymology of the word "universe" --
"uni" = "one; single"
"verse" = "sentence; spoken word"
"uni" + "verse" = "single spoken word or sentence"
"And God said..." (Gen 1:3, et al)
The Big Bang theory teaches that all of the universe was squashed into a dot smaller than the period at the end of this sentence (an "infintessimal region"), which began to spin, faster and faster, until it eventually exploded. The universe will either continually expand untill we all die a "heat death", or contract again, only to repeat the process in another "Big Bang", sometime in the future.
Basically, "nothing" exploded and made everything. The universe came from nothing. We all came from a dot, and the dot came from nothing.
Where did the dirt [matter] in the dot come from? Who made it?
Where did the [physical] laws come from?
It takes energy to make matter. Where did the energy come from?
The Bible teaches that the earth was CREATED, and that it was created 6,000 years ago.
Law of Conservation of Angular Motion --
The direction in which an object is spinning will cause anything that "spins off" from it to spin in that same direction.
If the Big Bang theory is correct, then everything that came out of the original "dot" should be spinning in the same direction in which the dot was spinning.
If the Big Bang theory is correct, then two or three of the planets, eight of ninety-one known moons, and even whole galaxies are spinning backwards.
The Bible also teaches a Big Bang theory:
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." (2Pet 3:10)
2nd Law of Thermodynamics -- Everything tends toward disorder.
Things become more chaotic with the passage of time. Things crumble and wither.
Evolution teaches that things get better or improve over time, and that the solar system is an "open system" that allow for the introduction of "new" energy to account for the apparent discrepancies with this law.
The solar system is NOT an "open system," but a "closed system," and energy [that is not controlled] is destructive, not productive, e.g...
- The "energy" that was dropped on Nagasaki & Hiroshima in WWII
- The effect of the sun's energy on roofs or paint jobs.
MAN INTRODUCES DEATH:
Did death bring man into the world (which is what evolution teaches) OR did man bring death into the world (which is what the Bible teaches)?
The Bible dates add up to establish Creation at about 6,000 years ago.
"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit." (1Cor 15:45)
"For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." (1Cor 15:21-22)
Man brought death into the world.
"For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." (1Cor 15:21-22)
If you add up the dates from Biblical genealogies, then Creation occurred around 4,000 BC.
Was Jesus lying when He said that He created all things?
- Jesus said that Creation was "the beginning."
- Evolution says that the beginning was 10 billion years ago.
- Evolution puts death before man.
- The Bible says that death came because of man.
- The credibility of Jesus, and the Bible is at stake.
- Jesus quotes from Genesis twenty-five times -- He must have believed it.
"For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?" (Jn 5:46-47)
The Bible is clear, and means what it says. If someone tells you that you must have him to interpret for you, then you might be in a cult.
CAIN'S WIFE:
Skeptics like to ask, "So where did Cain get his wife?"
This is not much of a problem compared to the evolution theory -- "everything explodes out of nothing, it rains on some rocks, the rocks become soup, and the soup comes alive..."
The Bible doesn't say that Cain got his wife from the "land of Nod," but that he knew her there:
"And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch." (Gen 4:16-17)
Adam had lots more kids after Cain, Abel, and Seth, including daughters...
"And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:" (Gen 5:4)
How many kids could you have in 800 years?
Cain married his sister.
{Adam married his rib.}
While this may seem strange to us today, it was different then...
1) There was no other choice.
2) There was no law against it -- the Mosaic Law came 2,500 years later.
3) There were no corrupted chromosomes or "polluted gene pools" yet.
Consider the theory of evolution -- it draws from the gene pool of a rock...
The choice to NOT have kids is hereditary -- if your parents didn't have kids, then you probably won't, either.
Adam could have known Noah's father.
Noah's son Shem probably met Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
When Pharaoh asked Jacob his age, Jacob replied that he was 134 years old, but not as old as his ancestors...
"And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How old [art] thou? And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage [are] an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage." (Gen 47:8-9)
Genesis was written by ten authors.
WORLD POPULATION & OVERCROWDING:
The population of the earth surpassed 6 billion in 1985.
It was around 1 billion in 1800 AD.
The population is growing, yet the earth is not overcrowded.
The entire population of the world would fit into the city of Jacksonville, FL twice.
In the western U.S., there is lots of "empty space."
There were about 250 million people in Jesus' day.
A graph with these statistics shows that the population began about 4,400 years ago.
If you believe in evolution [and the dates that they propose], then you have a problem -- The population of the earth should be 150 million people per square inch.
They say that the population must have "bottlenecked" somewhere.
It did. The earth's present population began with eight people 4,400 years ago.
Some people want to reduce earth's population...
Jaques Cousteau says that we should eliminate 350,000 people per day.
Ted Turner would like to see the population reduced by 95%.
Herod, with the "Slaughter of the Innocents," killed the babies, trying to get Jesus.
Georgia Guide Stones -- There's a big rock in Elberton, GA that lists the "12 Commandments of the New World Order." #1 on the list is a mandate to "maintain the population below half a billion.
Satan wants to destroy people.
THE HEAVENS TESTIFY TO A YOUNG EARTH:
Galaxies lose their spiral shape over time. Why are they still there?
Stars sometimes "blow up," leaving a "super nova ring" that is visible from earth, yet there are less than three hundred of these. Why aren't there more?
Red stars "evolve" into white stars over time (evolutionists say millions of years). Sirius was described as a "red" star by multiple eye-witnesses as late as 2,000 years ago. According to the theories of evolutionists, it should still be red.
Saturn's rings are moving farther away from it. Shouldn't they be gone by now?
Jupiter's moon Gavimede has a strong magnetic field, which indicates a hot inner core. Shouldn't it be cooled by now? (Some people claim Ganymede was attracted by Jupiter's gravity and moved much closer to Jupiter, was "pumped" by Jupiter and heated up, and then was "flung" back out to it's present position.
The moon is moving farther away from earth -- by a little bit each year. The fact that is moving farther away implies that it used to be closer. Reckoned by the age of the earth in the theory of evolution, 1.2 billion years ago, the moon would have been circling pretty close to the earth. Inverse Square Law -- The closer that two objects are to one another, the stronger the attraction. Consider the effects on life on earth of such a dramatic repositioning of the moon.
If the moon was much closer than it is today, the tides would drown everyone on earth twich a day - and you can only drown comfortably once a day.
Comets lose material -- they would've been completely gone in 10,000 years. According to evolutionists, new comets originate in the "Oort cloud," which is 50,000 Astronomical Units away from the earth. Yet, no one has ever seen the "Oort cloud," because its existence is a hypothetical theory, based on assumptions and mathematical miscalculations. Liberals will sometimes, in a debate, attempt to "shift the burden of proof." We do not have to disprove a story that they've made up -- they must prove that it exists.
The heavens prove the glory of God:
"...The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." (Ps 19:1b)
"When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" (Ps 8:3-4)
Evolutionists put the existence of the earth before the heavens, while the Bible puts the heavens before the earth.
God gets His handiwork right the first time -- he has no need for a process such as evolution.
A person who spends his time meditating on what God has done is not impressed by the things that man can do. Temporal things are irrelevant -- no one will care about things such as the outcome of today's sporting events in ten years.
RATE OF ROTATION OF EARTH EVIDENCE OF YOUNG EARTH
The rotation of the earth is slowing down. We "lose" a second about every year-and-a-half, and must amend our clocks.
If the earth is slowing down, then it must have been going faster in the past.
Today, at the equater, the earth spins at 1,038 miles per hour.
Six thousand years ago, the difference would've been minimal -- unnoticeably so.
However, billions of years ago, the planet would've been uninhabitable -- winds from the Coriolis effect alone would've exceeded 5,000 miles per hour.
The evolutionist's want to know what happened to the dinosaurs? I know! The earth was spinning so fast they lost their grip and went flying off into space!
MAGNETISM OF EARTH EVIDENCE FOR YOUNG EARTH
Magnets lose their strength over time. The earth has lost 6% of its magnetism in the past 150 years. Heat is necessary for magnetism. If the earth is as old as evolutionists claim, then, based on it's magnetism, it would have been too hot for life to exist. The theory of "magnetic reversal" is a myth -- not fact.
PANGAEA THEORY REFUTED
The Pangaea theory doesn't work --
- Africa would have to be shrunk by 40% for it to work.
- Parts of Mexico & Central America aren't included.
- If the waters in the oceans were removed, dirt is still there. The continents are still connected -- they were never separate.
CARBON DATING REFUTED
Carbon dating is a myth. Mammoths have been found that date to different millennium on different parts of their bodies.
GEOLOGICAL COLUMN REFUTED
Petrified trees have been found standing upright, spanning several different "strata" of rock, which, according to theories taught in school, represent different geological "ages."
ICE LAYERS REFUTED AS EVIDENCE FOR OLD EARTH
Core samples, that were taken from deep holes drilled in ice, are marked with rings, which supposedly delineate the annual changing of the seasons. Samples taken from a depth of 10,000 feet have been marked with as many as 135,000 rings, that are said to indicate as many years. That the ice rings represent the yearly season change is an assumption.
A U.S. WWII fighter plane -- a P-38 Lightening -- that was lost over Greenland in 1942 was discovered in 1992 -- under 268 feet of ice. The ice contained hundred of these "annual" ice rings -- not fifty, as it should have been, had this theory proved to be correct.
Also, in Alaska, 15 distinct layers of snow have been observed to fall over a period of a mere eight hours.
NO PHYSICAL PROOF FOR DATING FOSSILS
If a treasure from a sunken ship includes coins from the year 1750, then you may safely assume that the ship did not sink before that year. It is a "limiting factor." Fossils do not talk, nor have dates stamped on them. How do you establish the age of the earth? The only sure way is to find the One who made it.
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Gen 1:1)
"But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female." (Mk 10:6)
"And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:" (Heb 1:10)
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:" (Col 1:16)
"And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] at the beginning made them male and female," (Mt 19:4)
PETRIFICATION POSSIBLE IN SHORT TIME
Petrification does not take millions of years, as is taught by evolution.
At Spirit Lake, trees from the Mt. St. Helens eruption have began to petrify in less than twenty years.
A cowboys foot and part of his leg were found petrified, still in the boot, dating to the mid-19th century.
A dog was found petrified inside of a tree.
SUBTERRAREAN STRUCTURES POSSIBLE IN SHORT TIME
Stalactites, columns, and rock flows, as well as other geological cave formations are merely mineral deposits, and don't take millions of years to form.
Some are present in the Lincoln monument.
Flow stones no more than forty years old are know to exist.
The "Tepee Fountain" in Wyoming was created from a mineral spring in less than a century.
Numerous other examples exist.
Mineral deposits do not take millions of years to form.
SALT CONTENT IN OCEAN EVIDENCE FOR FLOOD
The oceans are only 3.6% salt.
Salt mixes with rainwater and travels to the ocean.
Why aren't the oceans saltier?
The oceans may have been mostly freshwater during the Flood. Animals would have adapted to the saline content as the waters got saltier.
PROCESS OF DESERTIFICATION EVIDENCE OF FLOOD
Through a process called "desertification," the Sahara desert is constantly growing, due to a prevailing wind pattern.
Scientists estimate that it is about 4,000 years old.
It couldn't have started growing until after the Flood.
Why are there no bigger deserts on the earth, if the earth is billions of years old and the Flood is a myth?
EXISTENCE OF OIL EVIDENCE OF FLOOD
Oil beneath the surface of the earth builds to a pressure of 20,000 PSI.
If it was created over millions of years by decomposing dinosaurs, as evolution teaches, why has it not all come up by now, as the pressure has built?
Oil is created by people and animals that drowned in the flood and were squashed under layers of rock and sediment, which compressed them into oil.
AGE OF GREAT BARRIER REEF EVIDENCE FOR FLOOD
An environmental group in Australia watched the Great Barrier Reef "grow" for 20 years, and determined that it was about 4,200 years old.
Why isn't there a coral reef that is older?
AGE OF WORLD'S OLDEST TREE EVIDENCE FOR FLOOD
"Tree ring dating" is not an exact science.
The oldest tree in the world is a bristlecone pine, which is around 4,300 years old.
This supports the Biblical dating of Noah's Flood, to around 4,400 years ago.
Why is there not an older tree?
EROSION OF NIAGARA FALLS EVIDENCE OF FLOOD
Niagara Falls is eroding backward at the rate of 4.7 feet per year. It is presently eroded back about 7.5 miles. Charles Lyle, author of "Principles of Geology," a book which was instrumental in convincing Charles Darwin of the theory of evolution, said that the erosion of Niagara Falls had taken 10,000 years to get to the point where it was in his day, then later adjusted his estimate to 35,000 years. If the earth is millions of years old, and either of Charles Lyle's estimates are correct, then why wasn't the falls backed all the way up to Lake Erie long ago? Half of the "erosion" of Niagara Falls probably occurred in about twenty minutes during the Flood.
FORMATION OF THE GULF OF MEXICO EVIDENCE OF FLOOD
Evolutionists claim that it took 30,000 years to deposit the mud at the mouth of the Mississippi River. If the earth is millions of years old, as they contend, why is the Gulf of Mexico not full by now? The Mississippi Delta was created by Noah's Flood. Petrified trees have been found while drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
EROSION EVIDENCE OF YOUNG EARTH
At the current rate of erosion, all of the continents will be gone in fourteen million years.
There are "erosion" marks all over the world that serve as markings -- evidence -- for the Flood. One such example is "ripple marks" a mile and a wide in southern Iraq.
EROSION EVIDENCE OF FLOOD
Erosion moves mass downwards. Why are fossils found at high elevations?
AGE OF RECORDED HISTORY EVIDENCE OF FLOOD & YOUNG EARTH
The Chinese calendar dates back about 4,700 years, and the Hebrew calender goes back 5,673. Why does no written history exist beyond that? (Note: This exempts claims made in Egyptian sources, which cannot be trusted)
SEMINARY PROFESSOR DELUDED BY EVOLUTION
Crawford Toy, who was at one time engaged to marry Lottie Moon, the Baptist missionary, taught in a Christian seminary. He studied evolution in Europe, found that the theory didn't agree with the Bible, and assumed that the Bible must be wrong.
MAJORITY OPINION DOESN'T MATTER
Slightly over half of the scientists in this country believe in evolution. [It doesn't matter how many people espouse the doctrines of evolution...] Majority opinion does not determine truth. [Over the years, the consensus of the scientific community has held many viewpoints that have proven to be untrue, e.g...]
the sun goes around the earth
sickness is caused by "bad blood" (the diagnosis for which was often "bloodletting," of which George Washington died)
[the earth was flat, rather than spherical]
etc.
EVOLUTION EVANGELISM:
Many kids from Christian homes (as many as 75%) have their faith destroyed by the evolution that is taught to them in public schools.
Some "brainwashing" techniques will leave out key pieces of information, which will lead the subject to certain predictable assumptions. If you're able to get someone off track in the first few seconds, then you've got him. This is accomplished by evolutionists who direct the phrase "millions of years ago..." at our children. This occurs in:
kindergarten books
public library books
textbooks
TV and other media
even Dr. Seuss books!
To assert the assumption that the earth existed millions of years ago is to call Jesus a liar in that the Biblical "beginning" was not, in fact the beginning, and in that death entered the world before man.
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." (Col 2:8)
If a kid goes to public school for twelve to sixteen years in your town, what will he believe?
CONCLUSION
- God made the world.
- God owns the world.
- God makes the rules, whether you like them or not.
- We are all guilty of sin.
- He gave us the Law to show us that we are sinners.
- We have all broken the Law and must be punished (with hell), unless we can find a Substitute.
- All of your good works do not matter.
- Would you plead your case, before a judge, using the defense,
- "...but, Your Honor, I only killed one man -- look at all the people that I didn't kill"?
- God would be your judge, but if you are adopted, then it is a family matter, and He is your Father -- not your Judge.
You will be dead for a long time -- George Washington died over two hundred years ago, and he's still dead.
Where are you going when you die?
"The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God..." (Ps 14:1b)
All that we get in this life is a dash between two dates (as on a tombstone). Why don't you give your dash to God?
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2Pet 3:9)
If you are a Christian, then what are you doing for Him?
Do something to win souls -- that's the goal.
